Google Adsense is retiring Product Referral
This is a not-so-new news. Google is not going to offer incentive for Adsense referrals effective end of August.
That means you can’t really ask people to download Google pack, sign up to Adsense etc and get paid anymore.
However, it doesn’t mean that you have one less channel to earn money from your website. In fact, the paragraph below is from the “Inside Adsense” blog:
“As part of the integration of DoubleClick, the DoubleClick Performics Affiliate Network will now operate as the Google Affiliate Network for advertisers targeting users located in the United States. Similar to the AdSense Referrals program, the Google Affiliate Network enables publishers to apply for advertiser programs and get paid based on advertiser-defined actions instead of clicks or impressions. For further details, please visit: http://www.google.com/ads/affiliatenetwork/.”
You can sign up to the new affiliate network here.
PS. I have just received my optimization report from my Adsense account. It asks me to use adsense referral on my website. I guess Adsense would need to update their optimization text.
