Choose the best Web Hosting

April 30th, 2008 at 08:45am Under Web Hosting

I am going to move this blog to the new web host that I have found recently. Not just because it is cheaper (In fact I have to pay for it). The reason is that it is offering me a lot more than my current host. And I realized most of my readership are from the US, hence a local host would be beneficial.

From as low as $2.99 I have access to a 99.5% uptime Linux web server. I would have 5GB of space (a WOW for a blog) and 100GB Bandwidth (another WOW)! Other features include (but not limited to):

  • 30-day money back guarantee
  • 24/7 service support
  • Instant backup
  • No contract
  • Instant Setup
  • Free Setup
  • Control Panel (cPanel)
  • Fantastico
  • Unlimited domains
  • Unlimited subdomains
  • Parked domains
  • Unlimited FTP

To know more about this package, click here. They also provide reseller hosting at an affordable price.

Need a blog? No problem. Fantastico provides everything that you would ever need!

I have hosted another website with this service to test it out. So far, no complaints!

Choose the same web host as me. Choose Cirtex Hosting.

Why is blogging important for your business

April 29th, 2008 at 12:11pm Under Blogging

Why is blogging important for your business? Isn’t a simple website enough? After all, I just need a simple introduction of my company.

This is wrong. Yes, you might be satisfied with a simple 5-page website, with “about us”, “contact us”, “product range”, “homepage”, and “news”. So how many pages would be indexed by Google? Simple calculation.

What is the chance of your site being found through the search engine? Not so simple calculation, but easy to imagine.

Having a blog for your website would allow you to:

1. Show off your specialty. You blog about your products, your knowledge of the industry. People read them and would think you are the master.

2. More pages for search engine to index. You probably know that each post is treated as 1 page. The more post you have, the more pages you have. Increases your chance of being found.

3. Search Engine Optimization. With the blog properly optimized, and the posts targeting key phrases, your blog’s ranking would increase and hence, easier to be found.

A properly designed website would certainly increase your exposure, and professionalism. Ask your web designer for a blog quotation today!

Run a Successful Online Business

April 23rd, 2008 at 02:41pm Under Affiliate Marketing+ Blogging+ SEO

How can you be successful at running an online business? How do you earn a lot out of your website / blog?

1. Affiliate Programmes
It is not a myth that affiliate program, if you have joined the right one, is the most lucrative. However, there are a lot of them on the market, and many of them are saturated already. To earn more, get into an affiliate program as early as you can. Click2Sell is a new affiliate program that I have recently joined. I will write a detailed review about this later.

2. Ads on the site
Many are saying that Google Adsense is not paying enough. You may want to consider other ad network. Some even provide other ad format rather than the traditional contextual ads. Eg. AdToll provides a peel-away ad, illustrated on the right top corner of this site.

3. Build your Network
Attending conferences of related niche, talk to other bloggers… You got the idea. MyBlogLog, SocialSpark, Technorati etc provide a platform for you to communicate with other bloggers.

4. Grow traffic onto your site
The ultimate way is to have fresh, good content posted frequently. If you buy traffic, it is only going to last a while. People revisit your site because you have provided them the content that they want.

5. Consistently post & Frequently post
Make sure you keep posting to your blog, and frequently post to it as well. That way, visitors know everytime they visit your site, they would see something new.

6. RSS
Host some contest, provide incentive, and encourage people to subscribe to your RSS feed. The RSS list is where you can communicate with your existing readers.

7. Google Adwords
If you want to promote, consider Google Adwords. So far it still covers the most of the target market, whichever it is. Bear in mind it is getting more and more expensive, so you might as well grab it while it is still relatively cheap.

Page Rank Lost?

April 22nd, 2008 at 06:49am Under Blogging+ Search Engine

You probably have / have not notice that the page rank of this blog has disappeared. Apparently Google spanked the blogs hard on the last page rank update. (I was hoping to have an PR increase due to my effort put into link building.)

RankSpank

IZEA has recommended their new service - they named it IZEA rank / RealRank.  I strong encourage you to sign up as:

1. It is free
2. It seems like it is more reliable than Alexa and Google PR

I can see that there will be more and more people trusting this ranking service instead of the others (Although you may have heard about the change of Alexa ranking).

From their FAQ:

RealRank is the first site ranking service that focuses exclusively on measuring the traffic and influence of individual blogs throughout the blogosphere. The service is designed to help advertisers analyze the relative reach of blogs and make informed online advertising purchasing decisions in the long run. RealRank aims to replace historically unreliable influence indicators such as Google PageRank, Alexa and Comscore by providing more accurate statistical data collected directly from the source.

Click on the badge to sign up.  It is that simple!
